The NYHL is excited to open Mite Flyers tryout registration for the 2025-2026 season.
The Mite Flyers program is the perfect blend of on-ice skills work, team practices, weekly house league games and more competitive travel games. The combination of both Travel & House League allows for enhanced individual skill development, team concepts, increased confidence and leadership skills in an environment designed to grow your players’ love for hockey. Mite Flyers receive over 80 hours of ice for the season between Mite Flyers practices/games and House League practices/games.

Tryouts (Centennial Sportsplex):
Birth Years: 2017-2019 Birthyears
Teams: Mite Flyers Major & Mite Flyers Minor. The Mite Flyers Major team is the more competitive of the two teams composed of stronger/more experienced players.
Practices: Mite Flyers will practice on Sundays starting Sunday, August 24th typically in the 12:50-1:40pm time slot. The teams will also practice Tuesday or Thursday prior to a tournament weekend.
Fees/Programming: ~ $1150 (subject to change) in addition to the House League Fees (House League ~$1000). Players are required to play in the NYHL House League. The Mite Flyers program is designed as an introductory travel program targeted for advanced 8U players. Mite Flyers Major & Minor teams will travel to 4 to 5 locations within a 2 to 5 hour drive. The Mite Flyers teams will also play 4-6 full-ice games against Squirt House teams and/or a full-ice tournament or two towards the end of the season to introduce the players to the full-ice game. The combination of the House League (weekly practice and games) and Mite Flyers (approximately 30 Mite Flyers practices with 5-6 tournaments) programming players will receive upwards of 80 hours of ice time for the season.
