James is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. His notable hockey highlights include:

  • Drafted by the Lincoln Stars in the USHL at age 17
  • Earned a full Division 1 hockey scholarship to Bowling Green State University, playing all four years
  • Expansive knowledge of game strategy, rules and regulations to accomplish full on-ice development potential
  • Instructor of hockey camps and clinics focusing on individual skills such as skating, stick handling, and shooting
  • Conducts private lessons concentrating on identifying and developing areas in need of improvement
  • A proven leader and team player
  • An engaging attitude, able to effectively identify and communicate with different personalities
  • Level 4 USA Hockey coaching certification

James works full time, engaging directly with players, coaches and NYHL officers. His hockey knowledge and experience, coupled with his business acumen and player-focused personality, elevates our coaches and players on a daily basis.  

Private lessons are available at Centennial Sportsplex from James.  Skating, shooting, passing, team flow play, positional play, and other skills are available in either a one-on-one or group setting,  For more information, times and costs, email James directly.

Dillon "Goose" Caffrey

Dillon Caffrey, or "Coach Goose", joins James Perkin in leading our organization.  Goose is responsible for overseeing the NYHL House League, Goalie Operations and assisting with the Flyers Travel Programs.

He is a Nashville native and has been playing hockey since 7 years old; growing up playing in the NYHL with the Ice Tigers and Southern Flyers. Coach Goose also played for Mt. Juliet High School, NA3 for the Glacier Nationals in Montana, and is currently an Emergency Backup Goalie (E.B.U.G.) for the Nashville Predators. Goose began coaching hockey at the age of fifteen, discovering a new love and appreciation for the game. He holds a USA Hockey level 4 coaching certification and a USA Hockey Goaltending silver. Goose also coaches in camps clinics all over the US and Canada, and continues his education with yearly conferences and seminars to stay on the cutting edge of youth development. He is passionate about coaching and bringing energy to the game. Goose's primary objectives are to incite passion, build ongoing knowledge of the game, educate athletes, and grow the game for the current and future generations of hockey players.
