All prospective NYHL Coaches, Team Managers and Off-Ice Volunteers must be screened and properly trained by completing the required steps below (as mandated by USA Hockey and the NYHL)

Step 1:  Complete the NYHL Coaching Application here: NYHL Coaching Application
Step 2:  Email completed NYHL Coaching Application to:  jperkin@nyhl.com or mail it to:

Step 3:  Obtain a USAHockey Player/Coach ID #  at: usahockey.com/coaches​ (cost $40 must renew every year) 
Step 4:  Complete BACKGROUND screening at: 

Step 5:  Complete SAFESPORTS Training at: usahockey.com (renew every 2 years, download & save certificiate)
Step 6:  Obtain or renew USAHockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) Certification at: usahockey.com
                  A.) If you do not have a CEP certification or if your current level is expiring, attending a "coaching clinic" may be required.  
                  B.) Please read the Expired Certification FAQ to determine your next step(s)
                  C.) if you need to attend a coaching clinic to be re-certified, find a clinic near you: usahockey.com/coachingclinics
Step 7:  Complete USAHockey Age-Specific Module for the age you'll be coaching at: usahockey.com (save cerificate)
Step 8:  Complete State of TN Coaches Concussion forms at: NYHL Coaches Concussion Forms (print and sign)
Step 9:  Complete CDC' "Heads-up Concussion" video training at: www.cdc.gov (save cerificate)
Step 10: Email your confirmation #'s and receipts from steps 3-9 to: James Perkin at jperkin@nyhl.com

                   B)  Your SAHA Background screenting receipt
                   C)  Your SAFESPORTS Training Certificate
                   D)  Your CEP Coaching Certification number
                   E)  Your Age-Specific Training Module Certificiate

                   G)  Your "Heads-up Concussion" Video Training Certificate

Step 3:  Complete SAFESPORTS Training at: usahockey.com (renew every 2 years, download & save certificiate)
Step 4:  Complete State of TN Coaches Concussion forms at: NYHL Coaches Concussion Forms (print and sign)
Step 5:  Complete CDC' "Heads-up Concussion" video training at: www.cdc.gov (save cerificate)
Step 6:  Email your confirmation #'s and recepts from steps 1-5  to: James Perkin at jperkin@nyhl.com
