The NYHL is a nonprofit volunteer-based organization which has existed in Nashville since 1964.
The NYHL encourages, develops, advances and administers amateur youth hockey in Nashville and its surrounding communities while striving to follow the USA Hockey American Development Model.
The NYHL strives to afford people the privilege of participating in youth hockey and related activities in an environment which allows players to learn the fundamental skills of hockey and experience the fun of playing the game without placing undue emphasis on "winning."
The NYHL operates a House League (Recreational and Learn To Play) program from September to March of each year. The NYHL also operates a Travel Program (Nashville Flyers) which participates in the Southern Youth Travel Hockey League. The NYHL also offers a Girls Travel Program (Nashville Girls Hockey) and House All Stars (light limited travel) programs, where more competitive play is desired.
